TASTING THE CUBE

The three tobacco blends were now ready. Now it was time for the great moment when the basic blends were to be mixed to the finished blend - the new Cube.

When I need to concentrate and clarify my thoughts I have always go for a walk down by the harbour in Svendborg. Here by the old wooden ship quay lie all the old wooden ships and cradles worthy of preservation as they have done for centuries. Mac Baren has always benefited greatly from its close proximity to the water, the same water that is used to transport the many tons of tobacco from the far corners of the world to be refined in Svendborg. That's why the ships and the water have always meant so much to me and my family.

And therefore the new Cube blend was to be tested down there by the wooden ship harbour one beautiful summer's evening. I was on tenterhooks to see if my dream would be fulfilled and if the tobacco was in line with my wishes and the notes I had made in my old book.

Full of expectation, I filled my pipe and lit up. And anyone in the harbour that day would have been able to see my face gradually light up in a satisfied smile. Cube was just as good as I had dared hope for - a tobacco for pipe smokers who value the superlative, and who want to spoil themselves.

That day the last piece of the puzzle fell into place: for what was the new blend to be called?

Suddenly, it struck me that the tobacco I was smoking had spent months being transported by sea, just as had always been the case, transport that was carried out in a box. So why not let the whole world have Cube in a box.

The next idea was not just to use a box, but rather a box divided into three, symbolising Cube's three corner stones:

I quickly wrote down my thoughts - I was sure the puzzle was now complete, especially seeing it was the actual taste of Cube that had inspired me.

After all this work it is with a feeling of great harmony and expectation that I present you with Cube, a tobacco with an especially creamy aroma of sweetness and fruit, which is intended for the pleasure of pipe smokers around the world, which was tested one sunset down at the old wooden ship harbour in Svendborg Sound. My adventurous journey towards the development of the perfect blend has been as exciting and as satisfying to the senses as is the Cube blend. But finally I can say in all conscience that "it's in the box".
